 How It Works

  • During your free 30 minute consultation by phone or Zoom, Lauryn will start by discussing your research goals. Are you just starting your family tree, or is there something more specific you want to achieve? Together you’ll decide on the scope of work and which package is best for your project. Research will begin upon receipt of payment and applicable signed waivers.

  • You’ll receive an ancestral report that includes detailed information about individual ancestors, copies of relevant documents and images, and suggestions for further research. The amount of detail on your report will depend on the scope of work and the information available.

Lauryn will also build an Ancestry tree for you with collaborator access under your own Ancestry membership. All clients will receive a GEDCOM export of their tree. You can upload this file to many family research websites to continue building your tree.

  • The time needed to complete each project will vary depending on the overall goals and scope of work. Grow Your Tree and Uncover a New Branch packages require a 3 hour minimum purchase.

    3-5 hour projects: $50/hr
    6+ hour projects: $40/hr

Payments can be made by e-transfer or PayPal. Prices are listed in CAD.

  • Single document lookups are available for $15 CAD per document. Lauryn will confirm access to the required database before beginning the lookup. Any additional costs to purchase the document will be paid by the client. The document will be sent by email as a PDF or ZIP folder.

Please note that many available record sets are not complete and some documents may be missing. Refunds will not be provided if the document is not available in the database.
